Using disposable tools is one of the cleaning tips for your home after being sick to break the chain of germ transmission. If you use reusable tools, make sure to wash them with soap and warm water, then disinfect with bleach. Washing the tools will remove the dust, dirt and grime they have accumulated during the clean-up.
You then kill the bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens on the tools that didn’t wash off by disinfecting. While doing this process, make sure you dip the cleaning tools in a solution of 10 parts water and one part bleach for at least 10 minutes. After disinfecting, keep the tools in a well-ventilated area to air dry, then store them in a closed space.
After recovering from infectious and communicable diseases like COVID-19, influenza, norovirus and others, you need to sanitise your home to prevent transmission and getting ill again.
